Plaxo's Personal Card: Socializing Plaxo eCards

  • Unclaimed · 1 year ago
I have always felt that the best thing about Plaxo eCards versus all the other ecard sites was that Plaxo ecards are NOT picked up online. I'm really very disappointed by this change. But, I know I'm going to love the ability to track my sent, received, and scheduled eCards; I suggested this a long time ago, so THANKS!

I second the comments below that this new change is a step backwards as far as having recipients pick up their cards as opposed to receiving them via email. I send all of my ecards (to many clients, prospects) via Plaxo ecards and it is way more personalized to send via email as opposed to having them pick them up the way it is now. Very bummed about this change and not sure I am going to continue paying for the premium account.

I actually meant I second the comments above in my posting. Oops.

Could you guys stop wasting time and finish the gmail syncing. The API has been out for a VERY long time now.

The whole reason I used Plaxo e-cards is that they didn't have to be picked up online. I guess I will no longer be using them.

Plaxo's eCards are SPAWN FROM HELL!!! Since this morning, I have received OVER FIVE HUNDRED of the same goddamned cards. The system sends the same one EVERY MINUTE of EVERY HOUR of the day. That's 60 cards per hour -- not different ones -- THE SAME BLOODY ONE!

I log in, read the stupid card, delete it -- but THEY STILL KEEP COMING -- like a stream of cockroaches -- UNSTOPPABLE.

    I just want it to STOP!!! So, what do I do -- I log a support request. An hour later -- NOTHING. I then try support@plaxo.com, security@plax.com, abuse@plaxo.com, techsupport@plaxo.com, info@plaxo.com, admin@plaxo.com, administrator@plaxo.com -- NADA -- ZIP -- NO REPLY.

In fact, not only is there no reply, but the bastards have called ME a SPAMMER -- and have blocked my account!!!

I even called (from Russia, at my own expense!) Their head office and left a voice message -- the only possibility.

I did not originate this card from hell -- but it continues, every minute of every hour -- so far, for the whole day and into the night. My mailbox is full. If I shut down Outlook, it will just fill up my mail server and block access to legitimate mail.

STOP THE INSANITY!!! KILL THIS CARD FROM HELL!!! STOP PLAXO SERVERS FROM SPAMMING ME TO DEATH!!!

I set up an Outlook rule to forward the card BACK to them -- maybe after a few thousand to THEIR address -- they'll get the idea something is wrong. :(

UPDATE: Two hours after starting to bounce the emails back -- the cards from hell have finally stopped!

It took over 14 hours and over 1,000 before Plaxo's mail server finally stopped sending cards.

Now, just need to get MY Plaxo account UNBLOCKED -- because for some reason, MY address was reported as being a SPAMMER as a result of the problem with THEIR mail server and these stupid cards.

Once all is in order, I can live in peace once again.

Well what do you expect when it is owned by Comcast. I get the same kind of service from Comcast. While I once considered Plaxo I will now not use it or sign up for it.

I just realized that you no longer allow the ecards to be sent directly to the recipient's email inbox. This is a HUGE step backwards. What were you thinking? The advantage for using your service was that I could send a greeting card directly to my clients and they did not have to go pick up their card somewhere else. It came directly to them.

I teach people follow up techniques to improve their connections through networking. For the past 2 years, I have been highly recommending (actually URGING) people to use Plaxo and the ecard service. I will no longer be doing that.

As a matter of fact, I am going to cancel my subscription to your ecard service as I will no longer be using it.

This is truly a marketing mistake on Plaxo's part. You used to hold a niche. Now your service is just like any other ecard service out there. Amazing!

Like the others I think this is a very large step backwards. If you think it is a good change for me, please allow me the choice. You are no longer unique and there to many other card venders.

Guys: You ruined ecards!!!… I loved that you could send a ecard and the recipient did not have to open any link… I have subscribed to this service in the past but not longer…

Picking the cards up on-line instead of having them delivered directly in the email is a HUGE step backward. One of the things that set Plaxo apart from all the other ecard sites was this personal touch of having the card IN the email. Now it just sucks.
And now the premium membership price increases? Come on!
